Advocacy
KACF’s efforts to coordinate communications to and between our members is one of the benefits of KACF. KACF strives to ensure the most current and relevant information is available so that each member organization (as well as KACF) can astutely guide advocacy efforts.
KACF’s role in advocacy and public policy on behalf of its community foundation and affiliate of community foundation members is guided by the following goals:
- Informing community foundation members about any public policy issues that may affect the field of community foundations as well as the overall nonprofit sector,
- Educating policymakers about the role of community foundations as leaders in community philanthropy,
- Developing relationships with local and state public officials about the benefits of working with community foundations, and
- Advocating for policies and opportunities that encourage effective philanthropy and build thriving communities.
Additionally, KACF has developed a Public Policy Agenda to further guide and direct its work, which is reviewed and approved annually by the Board of Directors.
