Tornado Relief Efforts
5/25/2011
Funds set up to support Tornado Relief Efforts. Members of the KACF: the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas, Phillips County Community Foundation and the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation have set up funds supporting the Tornado Relief Efforts.
In response to the recent tornadoes in Joplin, Mo., Reading, Kan., and surrounding areas, the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation is providing a quick and effective way to help support relief efforts.
The Community Foundation has created two funds to pool donations - the Joplin Missouri Disaster Relief Fund and the Reading Kansas Disaster Relief Fund. Community Foundation staff will perform the due diligence to ensure that grants from both funds are awarded to organizations addressing the immediate needs of the victims of the tornadoes, such as providing food, shelter and medical care/supplies.
