Salina CF hires new Executive Director

Bill Grevas has been hired as the new President and Executive Director of the Foundation. Mr. Grevas, who most recently served as the Vice-President for Institutional Advancement at Kansas Wesleyan University, will begin his duties on January 4th. Interim Executive Director Wayne Lowen will spend two weeks providing orientation.

The Executive Director Search Committee, headed by chairman Larry Fief, was comprised of 9 individuals representing the Foundation Board, Founding Donors, Affiliates, charities, wealth advisors, and fund holders. A national search was conducted, with applicants being reviewed from California to Virginia, including one from Pakistan, and seven from the Salina area. Following a round of telephone interviews with six semi-finalists, the search committee invited two finalists to interview in person, and unanimously selected Bill Grevas.

Bill Grevas brings over twenty years of non-profit and development experience, thirteen of those working with the Kansas State University Foundation. His duties at Kansas Wesleyan also involved being the administrator for the KWU Foundation. Ray Perez, chairman of the Board of GSCF, said of
Bill, “The board and staff of GSCF are thrilled to be able to hire someone with Bill’s experience and expertise. His long-tenure as a resident of Salina will also be an asset. The GSCF has accomplished some great things in its short 16 year history, and we think that Bill Grevas is the perfect person to lead the Foundation to even greater heights in the coming years.” Ray also noted that a community social will be held at the Foundation offices on January 7th from 5-7 pm to welcome Bill Grevas, and to thank Interim Executive Director Wayne Lowen.

When asked about his new adventure, Bill stated, “I am excited to begin a new chapter of my life with the Greater Salina Community Foundation. All of Salina and surrounding communities are aware of the tremendous impact they have made on local charities and our community life in general. I feel privileged to be able to work with and lead an exceptional team at the Foundation.”

The Greater Salina Community Foundation is the largest community foundation in the State of Kansas, having just over $150 million in assets. It serves the greater Salina community, including 12 affiliate community foundations.
